Car vs. Tree - Entrapment

The vehicle came to a T-intersection and did not stop, going into the tree.  The vehicle had a husband & wife in it.  The husband had a cut on his head, but was ambulatory on the scene.  The had slid up under the dash and was entrapped in the vehicle.  The decision was made to remove the roof to extricate her from the vehicle.  It took about 45 minutes to get her free of the car.  Both patients were transported to the hospital.  Units from Troutman Fire & Rescue, Wayside Fire Dept, and NC SHP responded to the scene.
